No Dog Left Behind
On March 21st, we launched a campain called "Helping The Hound Dog", sadly, Thor did not survive. This is his story:
"We named him Thor because we knew he would need super powers to overcome all of his obstacles: heart worm positive, high fever, raging infection, orthopedic issues, extreme malnutrition, etc. But he made it to Penny's house, Alex brought him to the Vet, Dr. Jones and her staff started treating him, and we were rescuing him. We would save him and find him the forever home he deserved. After Dr. Jones took x-rays, Bobbie carried him back to his kennel. He ate and drank. We were optimistic. He even peed on his blanket and made us all laugh. We were talking to him when he craned his neck up and went down. Within seconds our Thor had passed. Right in front of our eyes Thor crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Dr. Jones suspected a blood clot. But we just couldn't believe it. And now we wonder if anyone looked for him, missed him, or ever thinks of him. And sadly enough, at one time, Thor was someone's dog. He had a tattoo in his right ear with the number 3735. Thank you to all who cared about Thor. In his last days he had humans to feed, water, care, and love him. Thor didn't die alone. And he certainly took a piece of our hearts with him." In honor of Thor, we are launching a new campaign, "No Dog Left Behind". By donating to this campaign, your donations will go DIRECTLY to saving animals in Madison County. We have not turned down a single dog in need and we never will. Thor has inspired us and we hope his story inspires you. Since December 31, 2014, we have rescued more than 70 dogs and the number is growing daily. Your donations will help with the costs involved in rescue, this includes: food, shelter, vet expenses, travel and more.
