We received news that local pet flippers are at it again on local buy/sell/trade pages!! These people get dogs for free or low cost and turn around and sell them for profit. The dogs often live in terrible conditions during their stay. If you are giving away your pet (which we do not recommend) please use caution! Pet flippers have multiple Facebook accounts and are always searching for pets. Fake profiles usually have few pictures, very few friends and little to no activity. Check the person out using free sites like CaseNet to find out about legal issues. On buy/sell/trade pages you can search a persons name (desktop version on right side) and see if they have acquired other pets or are selling animals. It is acceptable and recommended to ask for vet and personal references before surrendering an animal.
